This raises the question of what is meant by ‘psychological or spiritual development.’ \nOn the 23rd of November\, we will explore two contemporary frameworks that examine how humans evolve in their personal identity\, values\, and worldviews: integral theory and metamodernism. Both offer ways to understand the complex\, nonlinear path of human growth. These theories recognize development as a multi-layered process\, encompassing cognitive\, emotional\, moral\, and spiritual dimensions. \nTo map these stages of growth\, we’ll provide a model that visualizes shifts in human consciousness and values over time—from survival-oriented mindsets to more complex\, interdependent ways of thinking\, up to stages where individuals begin to develop a broader perspective\, integrating insights from previous stages and potentially experiencing an ecological awakening that connects personal growth with planetary well-being. \nTo connect the dots\, we’ll consider how psychedelics can catalyze transformative insights\, potentially accelerating growth through certain developmental stages or even offering glimpses into higher stages.
